Color of the Year 2022: Very Peri

The past few years we have talked about the possibilities of the color of the year and it has been a fun game, this year pantone beat us to the punch and we didn’t even get to guess! For 2022 our new color of the year is- drumroll please- Very Peri! The summary of our thoughts is “pretty but not super exciting!”. The reason that it isn’t exciting is because when you take a look back over the last several years it is not wildly different from some of the other colors of the year, some notable examples 2014 Orchid, 2016 Serenity and Rose Quartz, 2018 Ultra Violet, and 2020 Classic Blue. While Very Peri is different we aren’t sure it’s different enough to be exciting.

Pantone has this to say about their color choice:

All criticisms aside we do think that Very Peri is a beautiful color, and we love the spirit of new possibilities and finding ways to navigate the world we are currently living in.
